Anonymous asked: I have scars on my stomach from self harming about 3-4 months ago. I guess I didn't realize how deep I was cutting. But now I don't know what to do. My sisters and parents are going to all wonder why I'm never wearing a bathing suit, because I only have 2 piece ones. I'm only 14 so I can't drive out and buy my own. They're going to get suspicious and I don't know what to do. And on top of that, I want to cut again for being so stupid. I'm an idiot
Hey there.
You’re not stupid and you’re not an idiot. Self harm is an addiction that can be overcome. Maybe you can ask a friend’s parent or another family member to take you to get a new bathing suit? You also might be able to use waterproof concealer to cover up the scars.
If you feel like self harming, there’s lots of other ways to positively distract yourself, such as watching TV, reading a book, talking to friends, painting…and there’s many more. The important thing to remember is this: Things will get better, and you are worth more than hurting yourself. You can get through this, and the sun will shine for you again. <3
